Not sure which tier is right for you? Here is how each plan maps to real situations and the scope of organizing different families face. Match your circumstances to the plan that fits best.
You want a simple, organized record of your personal documents, accounts, and final instructions so your family knows exactly what to do and where to find everything when the time comes. The Starter plan covers the essentials — advisor contacts, document locations, and basic asset notes. If you also own property or want exportable summaries, the Family plan is a better fit.
You own property, have a living trust, or manage assets spread across multiple institutions and accounts. You need to catalog deeds, trust documents, beneficiary designations, insurance policies, and every advisor contact in one private, organized place. The Family plan with its real estate ledger, asset modules, and PDF export gives you a complete property and trust continuity record.
You run a business with multiple entities, operating agreements, partners, key employees, and a network of professional advisors. Your continuity needs go beyond personal assets — you need entity ownership documentation, trust and foundation records, a structured emergency playbook for successors, and the ability to grant access to your team or family office. The Business Owner plan addresses each of these directly.
You manage continuity planning across multiple family branches, trusts, operating companies, and investment vehicles. Your requirements include bulk entity onboarding, custom data fields, dedicated support, and potentially white-label presentation. The Legacy Office custom tier is designed specifically for these scenarios and can be configured to match your firm's workflow.
From advisor registries to emergency playbooks and everything in between — here is what each component of your continuity archive actually does and why it matters for the people who will rely on it.
Catalog every attorney, accountant, financial advisor, bank, trust company, and insurance carrier your family or successors will need to contact. For each entry, store names, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, account or policy numbers (non-credential identifiers only), and notes about what each relationship covers and what actions successors need to take.
The platform is designed to record where documents and accounts are located — not to store the documents or credentials themselves. Your original wills, trusts, deeds, and financial statements stay in their professionally secured locations. Lieu & Legacy stores only the references your family needs to find them, significantly reducing your digital exposure.
Invite trustees, co-trustees, family members, business partners, or professional advisors with granular, role-based permissions. Specify who can edit content, who has read-only access, and who can see specific sections of the archive. Access is revocable at any time and changes take effect immediately.
A visual dashboard that shows you at a glance which categories in your archive are complete, which are still in progress, and what your successors would see if they needed to access it today. The dashboard helps you identify gaps so nothing important falls through the cracks.
Generate a clean, professionally formatted PDF of your entire archive — suitable for sharing with your estate attorney, accountant, or trustees. The export preserves your entity ownership trees, property and asset ledgers, advisor directories, instructions, and emergency playbook in a readable, organized document.
A pre-structured playbook included with the Business Owner plan that guides designated successors through the first critical 72 hours after an unexpected event. It covers who to notify, what to secure, which accounts and systems to access, where to find legal documents and insurance policies, and how to contact key advisors — reducing confusion during a difficult time.
Map your full ownership structure across operating companies, holding entities, trusts, and foundations. Document trustee succession provisions, store operating agreement summaries, record filing deadlines and compliance dates, and attach notes on each entity's purpose and relationship to other structures. Designed for business owners and family offices managing complex entity webs.
Log every property, vehicle, aircraft, vessel, investment account, retirement account, and material asset with ownership details, vesting information, location of deeds or title documents, lien and encumbrance records, property tax account numbers, and explicit successor or beneficiary instructions for each item.
See exactly what each tier includes at a glance. All plans include the core advisor registry and archive view. The Family and Business Owner tiers add progressively more advanced asset tracking, export, and access capabilities.

Lieu & Legacy is a privacy-first digital workspace for organizing the non-legal side of estate and personal continuity. It helps you record where documents are stored, catalog every trusted advisor and financial institution, map entity and ownership structures, document emergency instructions for successors, and create a complete, organized roadmap your family can rely on — without ever uploading sensitive legal documents, passwords, or financial files. It is a metadata-first organizational tool, not a legal or financial service. Think of it as a structured continuity notebook that stays private to you and the people you choose to share it with.
Lieu & Legacy offers three paid tiers — Starter at $9 per month, Family at $29 per month, and Business Owner at $79 per month — plus a Legacy Office custom tier designed for family offices and professional advisors managing continuity across multiple families or entities. Each tier unlocks progressively more advanced modules, export capabilities, and access controls. Every plan can be billed either monthly or yearly. Yearly billing gives you the equivalent of 10 months of access for the price of 12, a savings of roughly 17% over the monthly rate, applied as an upfront annual charge.
The Starter plan includes the advisor and institution registry, read-only archive view, and basic asset modules — enough for a straightforward personal continuity roadmap covering your key relationships and document locations. The Family plan adds the real estate and property ledger, expanded personal asset modules covering vehicles, investments, and valuables, full PDF export of your archive, and the archive health dashboard that shows you at a glance which sections are complete and which need attention. The Business Owner plan includes everything in Family, plus the corporate entity and operating agreement archive, trust and foundation modules with succession provisions, a structured 72-hour emergency playbook that guides successors through the critical first days, and multi-user access so you can invite trustees, co-owners, or advisors to view or contribute to the archive.
Yes, at any time. Stripe billing handles all subscription management, letting you upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan directly. When you upgrade, new features unlock immediately and any remaining credit from your current billing period is applied to the new plan. When you downgrade, all of your existing archive data remains safe and fully accessible — you simply lose access to features that fall outside your new tier. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, so you retain full access until then.
Yearly plans cost the equivalent of 10 monthly payments and are billed as a single upfront charge when you subscribe or renew. This means you get two months of access at no additional cost compared to paying month to month — a 17% savings built into the annual rate. The subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel before the renewal date. Because yearly billing reduces transaction and processing overhead, we pass those savings directly to you rather than keeping them as margin.
You can start with a free account at any time to explore the basic roadmap interface, add initial entries, and get a feel for how the archive works. There is no time-limited trial that expires after 14 or 30 days. When your organizational needs grow beyond what the free tier supports — whether that is real estate tracking, entity structure mapping, PDF export, or multi-user access — you simply upgrade to the appropriate paid plan. Your data carries over seamlessly when you upgrade.
Absolutely. There are no long-term contracts, early termination fees, or cancellation penalties of any kind. You manage the subscription directly through Stripe's customer billing portal. When you cancel, your archive remains fully intact and accessible in read-only mode through the end of your paid billing period. If you decide to come back later — whether that is next month or next year — your archive data is preserved and waiting for you.
No. Lieu & Legacy is an organizational workspace and explicitly does not provide legal, tax, financial, investment, medical, or estate-planning advice. It does not draft or generate legally binding documents, does not review your estate plan for gaps, does not recommend specific legal or financial strategies, and does not replace an attorney, accountant, financial advisor, or any licensed professional. Consider it a structured notebook for continuity information — what you choose to record is entirely up to you, and we strongly recommend working with qualified professionals for any legal or financial planning decisions.
No. Lieu & Legacy operates on a metadata-first architecture. You should never upload passwords, bank credentials, account login details, Social Security numbers, or raw legal document files to the platform. The system is designed for recording where things are located, who to contact, what steps successors should take, and what instructions exist — not for storing the sensitive contents themselves. This approach intentionally reduces your digital attack surface and keeps actual sensitive materials in their proper, professionally secured locations.
Yes. Paid plans include export capabilities aligned with each tier. The Family plan includes PDF export that produces a clean, organized document of your full archive — suitable for sharing with legal and financial professionals, filing with your estate documents, or providing to trustees. The Business Owner plan supports expanded structured export formats designed for integration with professional planning workflows. Export covers all the structured data you have entered: advisor contacts, entity and ownership information, property and asset records, instructions and notes, and emergency playbook content.
Yes, with granular control over who sees what. The Business Owner plan includes multi-user access with role-based permissions — you can invite trustees, co-owners, family office staff, or professional advisors and choose whether each person can edit, can only view, or has access limited to specific sections. The Family plan supports read-only sharing so family members can view the archive without making changes. Even on the Starter plan, you can generate a view-only emergency access link that designated contacts can use if needed.
Your data is encrypted both in transit (TLS) and at rest using industry-standard protocols. Lieu & Legacy follows a strict metadata-only storage policy, does not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts, does not sell or share your personal information with any third party, and does not monetize user data in any form. Authentication uses secure session management with configurable session durations. For the complete technical and operational details, review our security documentation and privacy policy.

You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. Start with a single entry — an advisor contact, a property note, a piece of instruction for your family. Every archive starts with just one record. Build yours one piece at a time, at whatever pace feels right for you and your schedule.
