Our metadata-first commitment
Lieu & Legacy is designed as a metadata-first organizational workspace. We store what exists, where it is located, who manages it, and what should happen next. We do not store raw estate documents, passwords, credentials, bank logins, full account numbers, or sensitive document uploads. This design choice is fundamental to how we protect your privacy.
What we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and the information you voluntarily provide through our forms.
Family roadmap data
If you use our service, you may enter organizational metadata about document locations, family contacts, account notes, property details, insurance records, final wishes, executor instructions, and advisor information. This data belongs to you and is stored privately in your account.
Contact and billing data
If you contact us, we may receive your email address and message content. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) handles billing information. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Analytics data
We may use Google Analytics or similar tools to understand how visitors interact with our website. This may include pages visited, time on site, browser type, device information, and referral source. This data is collected in aggregate and does not identify you personally.
